Spinach and Cream Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast
Spinach and Cream Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast:
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, chopped
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Olive oil, for cooking
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried Italian seasoning. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
4. Take one chicken breast at a time and make a horizontal slit along the side, being careful not to cut all the way through. This will create a pocket for the filling.
5. Stuff each chicken breast with an equal amount of the spinach and cream cheese mixture. Use toothpicks to secure the openings if necessary.
6. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the stuffed chicken breasts to the skillet.
7. Cook the chicken for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until nicely browned.
8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
9. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
10. Serve the spinach and cream cheese stuffed chicken breast as a main dish, accompanied by your favorite sides such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
This recipe creates flavorful and moist chicken breasts stuffed with a creamy spinach and cream cheese filling. It's a delicious option for a satisfying meal. Just remember to use fresh and uncontaminated cream cheese for optimal food safety and taste. Enjoy your meal!
